“Indifference” by Carl Edwards
Sunday Evening Sermon & Altar Service ~ 1/8/2012

( Click on the underlined caption below to hear the sermon or altar service ~ .mp3 format )
Message ~ “Indifference” by Carl Edwards (1/8/2012 pm) ~ 42 minutes
    • In this powerful message, Carl said that the greatest hindrance to revival in the church and to spiritual fervency in our lives is indifference to the Spirit's dealings with our heart! He referred to the warning Jesus gave when He was speaking of His soon-coming return to earth for His people, "And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:26-27). He pointed out that the people were indifferent to heeding Noah’s warnings of the coming judgment and instead gave all their attention to the details of the "normal" pursuits of everyday life.
    • Stressing that the children of Israel turned to idolatry in Sinai while Moses was in the mountain receiving the law at "the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18), Carl pointed out what was occupying the minds of the people: "and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play” (Exodus 32:6). He said that as Moses descended the mount and heard the noise, he identified it as “the noise of them that sing." He said that it wasn't the golden calf that sealed their judgment--awareness of their sin and humble repentance would have resolved that. But he said it was their indifference--their singing, playing, and entertaining themselves that caused them to be oblivious to the wrath of offended deity.
    • Carl emphasized the need to earnestly seek God with importunity and gave a number of examples from the Bible of those who did so.
    • At the end of his message, Carl shared his stirring personal testimony of how he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost 49 years ago.

    Altar Service (1/8/2012 pm) ~ 52 minutes
    • The service concluded with a glorious time of prayer and singing around the altar as Pastor Lundmark led the congregation in singing the song: "I Would Not Be Denied!" Melody Lundmark was playing the piano and continued leading the singing as people prayed and the glory of God fell. She led in the following old-time Pentecostal choruses:
      • "Oil In My Vessel, Oil In My Lamp, Washed In The Blood, Sealed With A Stamp. Jesus May Come Before Another Day, Oil Is What I Need!"
      • "If That Same Spirit That Raised Christ From The Dead Dwell in You...It Shall Quicken Your Mortal Body By The Spirit That Dwells In You."
      • "Get The Glory, Get The Glory, Sing & Shout & Testify, Get The Glory From On High, Get The Glory, Get The Glory, Get The Glory, Glory, Glory From On High."
      • "Let The Holy Ghost Come In, Let The Holy Ghost Come In, Make The Consecration, Trust In God and Then, Let The Holy Ghost Come In."
      • "Know Ye Not, Know Ye Not, Ye Are The Temple...Ye Are The Temple Of The Holy Ghost."
      • "I'm Redeemed By Love Divine, Glory, Glory, Christ Is Mine, All To Him I Now Resign, I Have Been Redeemed."
      • "The Move Is On, My Lord, The Move Is On...I Can Hear The Rustling In The Mulberry Trees, And I know, I Know, I know, The Move Is On."

“Breaking Through The Barriers”
Sunday Morning Sermon & Altar Service ~ 10/23/2011

( Click on the underlined caption below to hear the sermon ~ .mp3 format )

Message ~ “Breaking Through The Barriers” (10/23/2011 am) ~ 32 minutes plus 21 minute altar service
    • Pastor Lundmark noted that when God created man, there was no barrier between Himself and man. God walked and talked with Adam and Eve “in the cool of the day” (Genesis 3:8). Then they sinned by disobeying God which created a barrier between themselves and God, Who is eternally holy.
    • Man could do nothing to break through that barrier as God declared, “For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me” (Jeremiah 2:22).
      • God Broke Through The Barrier In Giving Jesus Christ: our Redeemer and Intercessor broke down the barrier between God’s holiness and man’s sinfulness by taking our sins upon Himself!
        • We who “were without Christ…having no hope, and without God…now in Christ Jesus… are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who… hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us” (Ephesians 2:12-14).
    • God has done everything necessary to remove the barrier that separated God from man, so what is it that prevents man from fellowship with God today? What is necessary on man's part?
      • Humility: Pride with its expression of self will is the essence of sin and is the major barrier between man and God! "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble...Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up" (James 4:6, 10).
        - Humbly believe in the work of Jesus Christ for our salvation and receive Him. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12).
        - Humbly confess your sins to God. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
        - Humbly repent of individual sin and forsake it. “Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).
      • Prayer:
      • Humility and prayer go together and break through the barriers to God!
        - Humbly pray. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin..." (2 Chronicles 7:14).
        - Pray in secret. "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly" (Matthew 6:6).
    • The service concluded with many being touched by the Lord during prayer around the altar. Pastor Lundmark led in singing,"Just Keep On Praying 'Till The Light Breaks Through" and ended with "Amazing Grace."

“You Have To Go Down!”
Sunday Morning Sermon & Altar Service ~ 10/2/2011

( Click on the underlined caption below to hear the sermon ~ .mp3 format )

Message ~ “You Have To Go Down!” (10/2/2011 am) ~ 37 minutes plus 9 minute altar service
    • Text: “And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” (2 Kings 5:13-14)
    • In commenting on Christ's statement that there were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha, but only Naaman the Syrian was cleansed, Pastor Lundmark said three things define the difference--faith, humility, and obedience.
      1. Faith: Pastor emphasized the genuine faith in God of the little captive Israeli maid which made her a believable witness for God and Naaman's faith by which he believed her message that God would help him in his dire need and he went to Elisha
      2. Humility: Once Naaman understood the folly of his pride, he humbled himself and we read, “Then went he down.” This symbolizes the surrendering of his pride and self-will. If you want to come up “clean” and transformed like Naaman, you have to go down!
      3. Obedience: Naaman’s dipping “seven times” pictures his full obedience to God. “Seven” is the number of completion and perfection. If you need healing, salvation, or want to be able to say of God with Naaman, “now I know,” you have to humbly surrender to God and fully obey Him! You have to go down!
    • The service concluded with an altar call during which Pastor Lundmark led in singing,"I Surrender All."

“Enter Into His Rest” by Carl Edwards
Sunday Evening Sermon & Altar Service ~ 9/25/2011

( Click on the underlined caption below to hear the sermon ~ .mp3 format )
Message ~ “Enter Into His Rest” by Carl Edwards (9/25/2011 pm) ~ 45 minutes plus 18 minute altar service
    • Text: "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it...There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." (Hebrews 4:1-2, 9-10)
    • This is a wonderful message on gaining victory over sin through faith and trusting in the supernatural works of God as opposed to human efforts.
    • It is a stirring challenge to receive by faith all of the divine provisions that belong to us by His grace.
    • Rest is possessing the peaceful assurance that the battle is the Lords and He will handle it in His own way.
    • The victory is to those who cease from their own works and sincerely rely instead on God to accomplish His work.
    • The service concluded with prayer and singing around the altar as Pastor Lundmark led the congregation in singing a chorus which encapsulates the core of this message:
"Victory, victory shall be mine. If I hold my peace, and let the Lord fight my battles, victory, victory shall be mine!."

How Big And Wide His Vast Domain?"

Message ~ “Unsustainable!” (Subtitle "God Sustains”) (4/18/2010 pm) ~ 51 minutes
    • In this message, Pastor Lundmark tells of how environmentalists, economists, and others use the word “unsustainable” to express their fears about limited resources and he contrasts this with God's ability to sustain because of His unlimited resources. He speaks from three verses in the Bible where the word "sustain" appears ending with Psalm 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee."
    • The service concluded with an altar call as Pastor Lundmark led the congregation in singing the verses and chorus of the soul-stirring song, "Take Your Burden To The Lord And Leave It There."

Message ~ “Then Jesus Came!” (3/14/2010 am) ~ 50 minutes
    • Pastor Lundmark decided to speak on this subject after a very good response to the previous week's "Pastor's Comments" column on "When Jesus Comes." That column was based on the inspiring old Gospel song titled "Then Jesus Came" and focuses on how Jesus changed the gloomy life situations of so many when He came and how He still does the same today. In his message, the pastor expands that thought from Scripture and emphasizes the truth of Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
    • The service concluded with an altar call as Pastor Lundmark sang "Then Jesus Came."

“What's Your Heading?”
Sunday Evening Sermon & Worship Service ~ 2/21/2010

    Message ~ “What's Your Heading?” (2/21/2010 pm) ~ 63 minutes
    • Pastor Daniel E. Lundmark began his message by explaining the difference between the three navigational terms: course, bearing, and heading: Course is the path you take to get to your destination. Bearing is the direction you intend to take. Heading is the direction the head of the vessel is pointed and moving. He then said, "Concerning spiritual things, the matter of following Jesus Christ, and the matter of heaven or hell, my question to you is: What’s your heading? In what direction are you headed spiritually?" Pastor Lundmark then stated, "In his Financial Freedom Seminar, Jim Sammons had emphasized what the Bible says about not being in debt. Someone said to him that it seemed impossible to ever get out of their debt. His answer applies to every aspect of Christian life: 'Where you are is not so important as the direction you are headed.'" Declaring, "This truth is both a message of encouragement to those who are headed in the right direction toward the Lord and a message of warning to those who are headed away from Him," Pastor Lundmark preached the rest of his sermon from the Scriptures on those two messages of encouragement and warning and ended up with asking, "What's Your Heading? Are you on course for heaven? Will you be able to say with Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, 'I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness?'”
    • The service concluded with an altar call as the congregation sang two choruses of resolve: "I'm Going On" and "I'm Too Far From Where I Started."

    Message ~ “Experiencing Salvation” (1/10/2010 am) ~ 38 minutes
    • Pastor Daniel E. Lundmark took his text for this message from Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” He emphasized that Christians must have a genuine personal inner spiritual experience of salvation by the Holy Spirit, and not just proudly assume salvation based on outward things such as attending church, doing good works, etc. He stressed the involvment of the Holy Spirit's work in salvation and concluded with Romans 15:13, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”

    • This is the first time that Carl Edwards has been able to publicly present a sermon in our church since his horrible car accident over a year ago on September 2, 2008 which left him a quadriplegic. He has had to spend most of his time in bed since then because of very slowly healing wounds. Until recently he regularly tuned in to all of our services via telephone. He is now able to attend the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services and tunes in on the Sunday evening service while giving the wounds time to heal. During all this time of great trials he has maintained a beautiful attitude and has been a blessing to many.
    • Prior to his accident, Carl had been the Adult Sunday School Teacher for over 23 years at Northampton Assembly of God. Over the years, he also has preached from time to time in the services and when the pastor was away.
    • Pastor Lundmark urges you to hear this powerful message and states, "It is amazing to hear how the Lord used Brother Edwards to quote convicting Scripture passages that he has committed to memory over the years from the Word of God. I urge you to listen to this soul-stirring message about experiencing a close relationship with God."

Lundmark shared a message on faith and patience that the Lord burned into his heart from Lamentations 3:26 "It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD." He titled this message “Faith’s Patience” because patience is both an element of and an evidence of a genuine faith in God!
    • During the message on “Faith’s Patience,” Pastor Lundmark briefly shared the story of the death of their first baby girl, LaDonna Joy, while they were serving the Lord in evangelistic work in Greenwood, SC 44 years ago. He told of how God expressed His care for them during their grief by sending someone, whom they believe was an angel, to beautifully whistle the comforting song "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" just outside the hospital window on the fourth floor. Pastor Lundmark then led the congregation in singing the song that meant so much to them in their sorrow, "Does Jesus Care?"
